St. Gregory's University president Dave Wagie, Ph.D., was among more than 200 presidents from U.S. Catholic colleges and universities to hear an address by Pope Benedict XVI on Thursday. The speech at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. was part of the pope's six-day trip to the United States.

An American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, in the parish hall of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, at the corner of Broadway and Highland in Shawnee. Donors must be age 17 or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in reasonably good health. A photo ID is required. To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-448-3543. Walk-ins are welcome, but those with appointments receive priority. At this time, O-negative donors are especially needed.
