Dale holds off visiting Preston, 6-3
PRESTON -- Nate Hudson hit two home runs and picked up a save as the Dale Pirates knocked off Preston 6-3 Tuesday in high school baseball action.

Hudson went 3-for-4 from the plate with a pair of solo-shots and a single.

He also threw the last inning, retired all three batters he faced (including one on a strikeout).

Starter Blake Coon was credited with the win. He allowed all three runs (one earned) on three hits, walked two and struck out five in six-plus innings of work.

Zeke Melton also went 3-for-4 from the plate with a double while Darren Blocker led off the game with a homer. Jon McMillan was 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI.

Dale (8-3) visits Stonewall Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. doubleheader.
